Beheld
By
Alexander Whitley
2015
Alexander Whitley visually striking dance piece that incorporates sinuous and expressive movement articulations.
Sadler’s Wells New Wave Artist Alexander Whitley creates a resonant and emotive piece that should not be missed.
Beheld features powerful duets and breath-taking ensemble dancing with huge swathes of fabric and is set to a mesmerising score by German composer Nils Frahm, reworked by Rutger Zuydervelt.
Alexander’s work is absorbing and elegant, pushing the dancers’ movement skills into new areas wanting to evoke a visceral connection with the audience.
Brilliantly unstable choreography
The challenge of producing something that stimulates both the head and the heart is one that Whitley takes seriously
